LANTU Machinery Automation Series: Precision Vibratory Bowl Feeder & Hygienic High-Pressure Rotary Lobe Pump

Say Goodbye to Irregular Part Jamming and Viscous Media Transport Bottlenecks — Experience High-Speed Precision Sorting and Smooth, Pulsation-Free Fluid Delivery

Vibratory bowl feeders (automatic directional parts feeders) and sanitary rotary lobe pumps (lobe pumps) are core automated equipment engineered by LANTU Machinery. They address critical front-end pain points in industrial automation and assembly, including inefficient manual sorting, difficult orientation of irregular parts, hard-to-flow high-viscosity media, shear-induced particle damage, and hard-to-clean sanitary dead spots.

LANTU Machinery introduces customized turnkey solutions combining precision orientation feeding and high-pressure fluid delivery.

Vibratory Bowl Feeder: Built with a heavy-duty precision spring steel base, high-frequency electromagnetic vibration drive, CNC-machined helical track, and multi-stage photoelectric/pneumatic sorting units. It enables automatic bulk material loading, attitude detection and screening, single-track oriented output, and smart frequency regulation triggered by material availability. Whether handling threaded fasteners, microelectronic components, plastic irregular parts, or pharmaceutical caps, it guarantees accurate sorting with zero jamming and smooth, damage-free discharge.

Sanitary Rotary Lobe Pump: Constructed with a heavy-duty Stainless Steel 304/316L body, high-precision CNC-machined non-contact rotors, and hygienic mechanical seal units. It delivers strong low-shear self-priming and high-pressure smooth transfer for viscous sauces, fruit pastes with particulates, cosmetic gels, or industrial adhesives — ensuring smooth, pulsation-free delivery with zero particle damage or residual waste.

As an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of packaging and automation equipment, LANTU Machinery has simplified complex electromagnetic resonance sorting and positive-displacement delivery into intuitive, effortless operations. Easy to operate and quick to change over, our equipment significantly streamlines front-end production workflows, saving labor, time, and money. Industrial-grade reliability guarantees smooth, 24/7 continuous operation for your automated production lines.

I. Core Components and Three Major System Guarantees

Both core machine lines from LANTU Machinery are equipped with top-tier industrial components to ensure high quality, zero defects, and extended service life.

1. Smart Drive & Precision Control System

High-Frequency Electromagnetic Drive for Bowl Feeders: Utilizes premium silicon steel sheets and anti-fatigue spring steel plates paired with a digital frequency inverter, enabling precise adjustment of vibration frequency and amplitude. The bowl body features a PU polyurethane/Teflon anti-scratch coating to reduce noise and protect components.

Heavy-Duty Transmission for Rotary Lobe Pumps: Equipped with alloy steel hard-tooth surface timing gears and a high-torque variable-frequency gear motor. This design prevents inter-rotor contact and handles ultra-high viscosity media up to 1,000,000 cPs effortlessly.

2. Attitude Screening & Sanitary Cavity System

Photoelectric Attitude Sorting (Bowl Feeder): High-precision photoelectric sensors combined with micro high-pressure pneumatic nozzles identify and reject misaligned or overlapping parts in milliseconds, guaranteeing 100% correctly oriented output.

316L Mirror-Polished Cavity (Lobe Pump): Features a dead-spot-free internal pump cavity polished to a surface roughness of Ra < 0.4 μm, fully compliant with 3A and GMP sanitary standards. Customizable single-lobe, bi-wing, or tri-lobe rotors preserve the integrity of solid particulates.

3. Intelligent Interlocking & Safety Protection System

Linear Track Control & Full-Track Sensing: The linear feeder track includes high/low level sensors, interlocking with downstream equipment to achieve “feed on demand, pause when full” operation.

In-Line CIP/SIP & Overpressure Protection: The lobe pump includes quick-connect sanitary CIP cleaning ports, coupled with smart pressure sensing and safety relief valves that trigger millisecond-level shutoff alarms under overpressure, safeguarding pipeline integrity.

II. Workflow Breakdown

Vibratory Bowl Feeder Workflow

Bulk Loading & Base Micro-Vibration: Bulk parts are poured into the bowl, where high-frequency micro-vibrations drive them to climb along the helical wall track.

Track Ascent & Initial Separation: Narrow track sections and wiper plates strip off stacked or overlapping secondary-layer parts back into the bowl.

Attitude Detection & Air-Jet Rejection: Photoelectric sensors evaluate part orientation; misaligned parts are instantly blown back into the bowl for re-sorting by targeted air jets.

Single-Track Alignment & Smooth Transition: Properly oriented parts proceed smoothly into the single-track discharge outlet, transitioning seamlessly to the linear feeder track.

Buffering & Downstream Integration: Parts queue on the linear track, where intelligent sensors sync with downstream pick-and-place robots or packaging machines for millisecond-level automated pick-up.

Rotary Lobe Pump Workflow

Self-Priming & Fluid Suction: As the drive motor starts, twin rotors rotate synchronously in opposite directions to create a vacuum, pulling high-viscosity or particle-laden media into the inlet.

Volumetric Cavity Enclosure: Fluid fills the sealed cavities between the rotors and housing, moving smoothly toward the discharge outlet without shear stress or crushing.

High-Pressure Discharge & Continuous Output: Continuous intermeshing at the outlet contracts the sealed volume, delivering the fluid at high pressure smoothly and without pulsation.

Steady Flow & Reversible Line Clearing: Fluid is pumped smoothly into downstream filling or reaction vessel stations. When stopped, reverse rotation can be enabled to pull back residual product from pipelines, reducing waste.

In-Line CIP Flushing & Monitoring: After production, CIP cleaning fluid is introduced while rotors turn at low speed for high-pressure flushing, eliminating residual material without dead zones.

V. Purchasing Considerations & FAQ

Key Purchasing Considerations

Vibratory Bowl Feeder: Confirm part geometry and material properties (tangle-prone or scratch-sensitive), target feed rate (Pcs/Min), required discharge orientation, and cleanroom/hygiene requirements.

Rotary Lobe Pump: Confirm media viscosity and flow behavior at operating temperature, required flow rate and discharge pressure (MPa), solid particle size/hardness, and requirement for heating/thermal jackets.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: Will high-frequency vibration scratch delicate components? Will the lobe pump crush large solid particulates in fruit jams?

A: No to both. Feeder tracks are fully lined with high-elasticity PU or Teflon protective coatings to dampen vibration and prevent scratches. Lobe pumps feature large-cavity rotor designs that gently enclose particulates during transfer, maintaining over 95% particle integrity.

Q2: Will the equipment run smoothly when material is low or when pumping media prone to solidifying?

A: Yes. Vibratory feeders can be equipped with frequency compensation controls and auto-refill hoppers to maintain constant part density. Rotary lobe pumps can be fitted with thermal heating jackets on the pump casing to circulate hot water, steam, or oil, preventing fluid cooling and blockage.

Q3: Can this equipment be integrated into a fully automated, unmanned production line?

A: Absolutely. All LANTU Machinery equipment utilizes standardized modular interfaces and universal industrial PLC control systems. They integrate seamlessly with case erectors, automatic filling machines, assembly robots, and palletizers to build fully autonomous production lines.
